Reflecting on “Fridays on the Porch”

One month after our last "Fridays on the Porch" event, the SHHS Trustees met and discussed this summer's series, reflecting on what worked and what didn't work.

Everyone agreed Robert Browngardt's talk on his family's history of military service was one of the best presentations all summer. For those of you who missed Robert Browngardt's lecture, we will share some pictures and quotes later.

The Trustees also agreed having our donation jar out front has drastically helped offset the cost of our low key, open to the public, free events.

However, there were some serious questions about next year's "Fridays on the Porch" series. Should we continue having speakers? Who should we invite to speak? What about having mini-exhibits, which would do less to interrupt the flow of conversation? Well, what do you think? Do you like having a specific topic for a speaker? Should we continue the guest speaker format or add different formats?

SHHS would love your comments or your feedback via our poll!
