Policy for Group Tours

Over the course of the last year, SHHS's archival consultant Jackie Marks and several Trustees, including the many-talented Dorothy Zaykowski, Barbara Schwartz, and Jean Held, have worked to develop policies to help us deal with different requests from the public.

The Annie Cooper Boyd House sees a steady volume of visitors throughout the year, including tour groups. We also receive a large number of research requests. We try to handle all requests as fairly as possible, and to respond to the specific needs we encounter.

In recent years, we have dealt with more complicated situations, such as publication requests, or special requests for tours requiring our volunteers to be in multiple places throughout the village. This has prompted us to establish more formal written policies.

The first set of guidelines we are releasing is our policy for group tours, which are designed for large parties to see sites throughout the village.
